Our daughter Nat and her husband Greg have waited in many different ways for this day to come. Waited for a baby, becoming parents, having a newborn to experience the miracle from the moment of birth. It was with great emotion that Ryan's blessing was scheduled for Sunday, May 4, 2008. Hooray!
They decided to travel from their home in Colorado to Texas for the event. Greg grew up there and his parents still attend church in the same building where Greg and his best friends became Eagle Scouts and left/returned for missions. What a fitting place for Greg to bless his son in that same building! Besides Greg's parents, Nat's mom is in that area now, we have two other daughters there (Tiffany and Mark, Sharisa and Eric), four of Greg's sisters, and two of his best friends are still there. The circle around Ryan was large and well deserved. It was a beautiful blessing, followed by a nice testimony meeting, and a great party at Tiffany and Mark's house afterwards in their lovely backyard. Mark's gift was to have it catered so everyone could hang out and relax for the afternoon. The perfect weather was an added bonus to the atmosphere that they created for the celebration.
